Twitch and Amazon are facing a proposed class action over AI training data.

Streamer Warren Pandiscia alleges the companies copied millions of videos without consent, as early as 2024, to train Amazon's generative AI. Filed Aug. 20 in the Northern District of California.
Twitch confirmed the practice on Aug. 12 and added an opt-out setting. Channels are opted in by default. Chief product officer Mike Minton, defending that on stream: "If it was opt-in, nobody would opt-in. That's honestly the answer."
